What is a conditional order? A conditional order means the client trade the main order includes one or more trigger conditions (up to 6 trigger conditions are supported) The order will only be executed when the conditions are fulfilled, including tracking the price, price change percentage, or trading volume of the same or different underlying assets (such as indexes/ETFs/stocks). The order will only be executed when the conditions are met.
Note: Placing an order does not immediately validate or freeze the purchasing power or positions. The relevant purchasing power and positions are only validated when the order's trigger conditions are met.
Examples: 1. Price condition: 1.1 If choose the condition value as price > $10 and select stock A as the tracking underlying asset. When the price of stock A exceeds $10, the condition is triggered.
1.2 If choose the condition value as price < $50 and select stock B as the tracking underlying asset. When the price of stock B falls below $50, the condition is triggered.
2. Price change percentage condition: 2.1 If choose the condition value as price change percentage > 5% and select stock B as the tracking underlying asset. When the price of stock B increases by more than 5% relative to the price at the time of placing the order, the condition is triggered.
2.2 If choose the condition value as price change percentage < -10% and select ETF C as the tracking underlying asset. When the price of ETF C falls by more than 10% relative to the price at the time of placing the order, the condition is triggered.
3. Trading volume condition: 3.1 If choose the condition value as trading volume > 200K and select stock D as the tracking underlying asset. When the trading volume of stock D exceeds 200K, the condition is triggered.
3.2 If choose the condition value as trading volume > 1M and select stock E as the tracking underlying asset. When the trading volume of stock E exceeds 1M, the condition is triggered .
From the examples given above, conditional orders will trigger different operations and restrictions according to the different combinations of triggers, targets, condition values, and operators. For instance, triggering a market order buy or sell, as well as different combinations and restrictions of condition values and operators.
Conditional Order Rules: 1. Supported order targets: US stocks, US stock ETFs, US stock options.
2. Supported order types: market order, limit order, stop order, stop limit order, limit if touched, market if touched, trailing stop order and trailing stop limit order.
3. A maximum of 6 conditions can be set for an order. Conditions can be selected as "and" or "or" (currently only supports selecting "and" or selecting "or"), but not choose "and" and "or" simultaneously.
4. Order validity: Users can choose the order validity as valid for the day or "good till canceled (GTC)" in the sub-order. If the order is not completely executed before the order validity, the order will be automatically cancelled by the system.
5. Please note: If the order fails to be executed due to risk control, company action, or other reasons during the execution process, the order status will be updated as cancelled and the system will not continue to submit the order.
6. Trigger time: The trading session can be set as "Include Extended Hours" or "Only Regular Hours". If the condition is triggered, the system will automatically trigger the preset order during the set time period according to the different set sessions. When the condition is triggered, the system automatically submits the preset order to the market.
7. .Please note that the type of order when setting up the trigger time for Conditional orders. Conditional orders such as market orders, stop loss orders, stop limit orders, or trailing stop orders do not support "pre-market or post-market sessions". The trigger times for these types of orders only support the regular trading session.
8. If the order conditions are mutually exclusive, for example, condition price > 20 and price < 10, the order cannot obtain a condition value and as a result, the order will not being triggered.
Instructions and Notes: 1. Conditional orders are only supported for US stocks, US stock ETFs, and US stock options.
2. Even the conditional order is triggered, it cannot guarantee that the order will be executed.
3. Once an order is triggered, the triggering condition will not be activated again, regardless of whether the corresponding order is executed or not. If necessary, please place a new order.
4. Conditional orders automatically submit orders for investors after the triggering price is reached, but the processing logic for submitted orders is the same as regular orders. If there is no matching, the order will automatically be revoked after the deadline.
5. When closing a position, if the quantity of the conditional order is higher than the position of product at the triggering time, the order will not be executed.
6. Orders will only be triggered within the trading hours.
7. After placing a conditional order, it will not directly validate or freeze buying power or positions. Validation of relevant buying power and positions will only occur when the order is triggered. Please note that triggering a conditional order does not guarantee successful submission to upstream brokers or exchanges. It is also possible for the submission of a conditional order to fail due to insufficient buying power or positions in the account at the time.
8. After the order is triggered, the system will help submit the selected order type. However, to facilitate order management for customers, the order type will remain unchanged and continue to be displayed as the selected order type.
9. After the order is triggered, it will be determined whether the order can be submitted to the market based on the account's maximum buying power which may involve the use of margin. The validation and freezing of buying power will not occur when triggering the order. If the order amount in a cash account is larger than twice the account's net assets, the order cannot be placed. If the order amount in a margin account is larger than five times the account's net assets, the order cannot be placed.
10. Orders do not support simultaneous execution in multiple directions. If the order quantity is higher than the position at the time of triggering, the order will not be executed. This means that orders cannot simultaneously be for both buying and closing, or for both selling and covering.
