Valens Semiconductor Ltd (NYSE:VLN), RGo Robotics, and CHERRY Embedded Solutions have formed a strategic alliance aimed at transforming the advancement of AI-driven robotic systems.

The partnership will combine RGo’s Perception Engine, Valens Semiconductor's VA7000 MIPI A-PHY connectivity chipsets, and CHERRY's Rockchip-powered hardware module.

The integration of these technologies promises greater design flexibility, cost savings, and improved performance for mobile machinery producers, all while maintaining high functionality.

Valens MIPI A-PHY connectivity technology is expected to overcome the challenges developers face with short-range camera interface connectivity.

“With our VA7000 MIPI A-PHY chipsets, we’re allowing robotics developers to optimize camera placement in their systems, paving the way for smarter, more efficient automation,” said Head of the Cross-Industry Business Unit at Valens Semiconductor, Gili Friedman.

Traditionally, developers were forced to position processing units near cameras to overcome these limitations, which resulted in increased system costs and complexity.

In contrast, MIPI A-PHY enables high-bandwidth video to be transmitted over longer distances to a central processing unit, ensuring consistent reliability and signal clarity, making the technology ideal for robotics, where high-quality video data is essential for AI-driven systems.

The MIPI A-PHY standard is built for demanding automotive settings, providing electromagnetic compatibility for high-bandwidth systems.

Its use in autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), edge perception for human-controlled machines, and service robots is expected to enhance both the performance and scalability of these technologies.

Price Action: VLN shares closed lower by 6.02% at $2.03 on Monday.
