U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 100 points on Monday.
Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded up 0.24% to 44,407.91 while the NASDAQ gained 0.89% to 19,696.41. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.43% to 6,051.88.

Information technology shares surged by 1.5% on Monday.
In trading on Monday, real estate shares fell by 0.7%.
Top Headline
Shares of McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD) gained around 5% on Monday following the release of fourth-quarter results.
The company reported a fourth-quarter sales decline of 0.3% year-on-year to $6.388 billion, missing the analyst consensus estimate of $6.442 billion. Adjusted EPS of $2.83 was in line with the analyst consensus estimate.

European shares were higher today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 gained 0.5%, Germany's DAX 40 rose 0.6% and France's CAC 40 rose 0.3%. Spain's IBEX 35 Index rose 0.1%, while London's FTSE 100 rose 0.8%.

Asian markets closed mostly higher on Monday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 gaining 0.04%, China's Shanghai Composite Index climbing 0.56%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gaining 1.84% and India's BSE Sensex falling 0.70%.
